About us Mass Media Club · University of Moratuwa
Mora Lenz is the Mass Media Club of the University of Moratuwa. We sit at the heart of the university's media scene, capturing and preserving its most cherished moments through announcing, photography, videography, creative design and news.
Who we are
Mora Lenz is committed to excellence. We specialise in announcing, editorial, photography, videography and graphic design. With a passion for storytelling, we create top-tier content and dynamic platforms that take events and occasions to new heights.
As the university's official media club, we cover its major events and produce creative content across multiple platforms. We also organise three major events every year: the Food Festival, the Sandhwani musical night and the Mora Lenz Media Awards.
“To build a community of people who are eager to grow their knowledge and take an active part in sharing information through media.”
Sri Lanka's premier technological hub and a top-ranked university in South Asia, home to a community of more than 10,000.
Our story
How Mora Lenz grew from a small media team into one of the most active clubs on campus.
Mora Lenz was established to meet the media needs of events held at the University of Moratuwa. A team of students set out to capture, announce and share the university's most important moments.
The club grew into five creative pillars (Photography, Videography, Announcing, Creative Design, and Editorial & News), supported by five management panels that keep everything running smoothly.
Mora Lenz launched its all-island media competition, opening a national stage to school students and university undergraduates.
The Sandhwani musical night, a blend of music and culture, filled the open area of the Sumanadasa Building. The second edition of the Media Awards followed in the same year.
The third Media Awards drew more than 1,500 contestants from across the country, and Sandhwani returned to the Sumanadasa courtyard on 27 August 2025.
With 31,000+ followers and the fourth edition of the Media Awards under way, Mora Lenz keeps telling the university's story.
